    Yay on the acceptance!!
Love it. :) I'm working on Book 5, and have an editing deadline for March, so I'm working quickly as possible to get it into the best shape possible. It's only taken me too many months already. #newyearnewbook Need to get my butt in gear.

We're moving to Camp Shelby this summer. That's in Mississippi, if you didn't know. I wouldn't be surprised if you did. I just can't get out of the south, apparently. :) Keep us posted on Shore Leave. I'm pretty sure the move will mean I'm not going to NY this summer.

      Hello, Beth!

I used to have some friends from Gulfport, so I knew it wasn't too far from there, but I didn't know exactly where. Had to look it up on a map. Your family sure gets around a lot!

I'm hoping you'll have your new book finished in time for Shore Leave so I can include it in the giveaway. If not, I'm still planning on putting out a full set of whatever Hawk Elite books are available. (Note to readers of this blog: These books have action, not just kissing stuff, so it's OK if you're a guy and you want to read them...)

And I owe you an e-mail! Please keep in touch!

I've Had Enough Fun With Simily

Just a reminder: It’s okay to leave comments! I think it's time to end my experiment with  Simily .  via GIPHY I received this email from Simily this morning (June 14, 2023): Wednesday June 13, 2023 Important Changes to the Simily Platform To Our Fellow Similians, Simily’s mission has always been to build a place where creative writers and readers can thrive online. As the platform has grown, we noticed a shift in the quality of content and engagement on the site which took us further away from this mission. Over the past few months, our small team has spent countless hours and resources defending the site from bad actors focused on driving spam and bot traffic. (If you’ve been with us for a while, you understand the bumps in the road and we can’t thank you enough for sticking with us!)   It’s time we bring our focus back to creating a social platform that allows creators to share high-quality writing with an engaged audience.    We’ve spoken to hundreds of you...

FSF Challenge - Doors

Image
This week's writing challenge from Five Sentence Fiction (  Lillie McFerrin Writes  ) is based upon the prompt: Doors What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week Lillie posts one word for inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. Into this house we're born, into this world we're thrown... Oblivious To Oblivion      As the students and teachers made their way out of the designated shelter rooms in the center of the school, the principal remarked how they had all survived the tornado with just a few minor injuries even though the storm had blown out most of the doors and windows, and water and mud were everywhere.     "All except for Kyle," a girl replied, nearly in tears.     "He was outside during the storm?"     "He was going to sneak into one of the dugouts at the ball field...

FSF Challenge - Thief

This week's writing challenge from Five Sentence Fiction (  Lillie McFerrin Writes  ) is based upon the prompt: Thief What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week Lillie will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction. Get FSF updates on twitter by following  @5SentenceFic Bit by Bit     "Mom, why is old Miss Taylor so grouchy—all she ever does is sit on her porch and grumble!"     "She's lost too much to thieves to be happy, Sarah, so please be kind to her if you can.  When she was your age, a boy stole her heart, but before they could truly be a couple, a man took her innocence. The drugs she used to forget that time destroyed her body, and now the years are stealing her mind."     When Sarah's mother looked acros...
